ABOUT THE EVENT
This format will share many of the same attributes as a classic weightlifting meet, with some exciting upgrades. Athletes will performe both the Snatch, Clean and Jerk. Each athlete is required to weigh-in the morning of the contest. Each Athlete will then be placed in their weight class and receive heat assignment. 3-5 lifters will step out onto individule platform with 1 bar and 500lb of bumpers. A buzzer will indicate the start of a 4 minute lifting session where the lifter has as many attempts to hit his or her best lift.
At the end of the 4th minute a buzzer will sound indicating the end of the “Snatch” round. This same format will repeat for the Clean and Jerk portion of the lift. Once all weight classes have completed both lifts, the 3 lifters per weightclass with the highest total will advance to the championship round. The Championship Round is identical to round 1 with the exception of having just 2 minutes per movement.
There will be a champion crowned for each weightclass both male and female based off final round total!
